Fly Fishing

many rivers run through it

Welcome to Trout Country.

These are the rivers that novels are written about. The Madison. The Missouri. The Yellowstone. The famed waters of Southwestern Montana hold hundreds of miles of trophy trout and are easily accessible from Ennis and Bozeman.

Bring as much equipment as you like, but all any angler really needs is a hat and sunglasses—we can provide the rest. We work with some of the best guides and outfitters in the West, offering float and wading trips tailored to how you like to fish.

Let us help you plan your trip for the ultimate Montana fishing and dining vacation.

Captain Braden Powell guides the famed rivers of Southwestern Montana from a 16’ Clackacraft drift boat from June through September. The Madison, Jefferson, Missouri, and Yellowstone rivers are readily accessible from Ennis.

During the fall, winter, and spring, Captain Powell guides inshore charters in and around Charleston, SC. The large expanse of saltwater estuaries offers endless possibilities for targeting redfish and other species on fly or light tackle.

fishing with us

With a little advance notice we can provide you with rods and reels for the day, free of charge. On most days we do most of our fishing from the boat so waders are not necessary unless you specifically prefer wade fishing during your trip.

If you’d like to fish your own equipment, we recommend a five to seven weight rod with a floating line. Five weights are great for small dry flies but on a windy day sometimes a six or seven weight is a big help. Some other things that people like to bring along include camera, sunscreen, warm jacket, rain jacket and a hat.
